Walkies with my camera…

What a magic day!!  I’ve just been wandering around the streets with my camera looking for some inspiration and wanting to spend some quality time with the Canon… I’ve been delving more and more into the manual shooting and finding my way around this camera. I must say I got quite a thrill when I saw the bougainvillea shots come up on the computer, the colours are brilliant! Here’s to Mother Nature!! Enjoy your day :-).

Swinging…

I took this photo on a superbly random night in Galway. I was on tour through Ireland with some fabulous friends and a few of us were traipsing around the city after dinner looking for something to do. It was a Tuesday night so the prospects (we thought) were limited. Then, by chance we stumble across a bar that not only has a live band but swing dancing as well! Very cool night, a little too much cider for some (this girl doesnt drink and tell) and I must say some really cool memories were banked.

Dont you love it when you come across a little gem or treasure in life?? You just know that you’ve struck gold…

Almost the weekend, lets count our blessings and see the beauty in adversity.

I love Sundays!

I must say I’m enjoying this cooler weather today!! I’m indulging in it more than usual because I know its more than likely the last of it for quite some time! Not that I mind the sunshine but I do love to listen to the rain. Given the temperature today I decided to roast some of my organic vege’s for lunch. I kept it simple, some fresh herbs cut from MY garden, a sprinkle of sea salt and olive oil – Yum! There’s just something about roasted vege’s – you cant beat them! (For the meat eaters out there, yes, roasted meat is also tasty, I’m not denying that!) Anyway, another new week looms – there is opportunity everywhere!!

I hope you are all well. Today I worked on some of my vintage car shots and here is another fave. Enjoy. N x

Getting Grateful.

One of my favorite habits is taking a moment each day to recognise what I am grateful for. Whatever resonates with me on the day. About 2 years ago I started to follow Dr John Demartini and his work, I respect the man and thanks to modern technology I get a status update from him each day on Facebook, its a daily injection of reality, love, reason, sense and always gets me thinking.

On that, personally I have been on a steep learning curve the last few years, and have sometimes felt overwhelmed with all these new pieces of information – one person saying one thing and someone else saying the other. This eventually led to a bit of confusion and I have come to the conclusion that, of all the people you follow or listen to in your life… keep it simple, listen, think and make it your own. Remember, that great leaders and mentors don’t tell us what to do, instead, they get you thinking so you in turn do your own research. We all know what is right for ourselves, no one else can tell you that.

So,  I’d like to share Dr Demartini’s thought for today below. I do this every day, its such a simple concept and I get a lot out of it, if this resonates with you, I hope you get something out of it as well.

“By waking up with an attitude of gratitude you can add value to your life. Spend a moment while lying in bed before you get up just thinking about what you’re grateful for. You could be thankful for a pleasant phone call, be thankful for your children, partner, home or your job and its opportunities. You’ll be amazed how much zest it adds to your day.” Dr J Demartini.

Just in case you were wondering, when I woke up this morning I was grateful for the abundance of opportunity that lies before me.
