Sunsets & Blessings

Today has been a challenge. This evening I’ve had a chance to reflect on the last 16 hours, and decided to sit down and see where I’ve had some blessings. So today I’m grateful for…

a good friend meeting up with me at a moments notice, hugging me just that little bit longer because good friends just know these things….

my goofy cat who today reminded me of how much love I’ve got to give…

and finally this gorgeous sunset that momentarily took my breath away…

Where have your blessings been today? x N

Nature is so powerful, so strong. Capturing its essence is not easy – your work becomes a dance with light and the weather. It takes you to a place within yourself. Annie Leibovitz

Kent

Following on from my last post, after visiting Leeds Castle, Jenny, Tania and I spent the afternoon and evening in Kent. Christmas markets were the highlight with mulled wine, stalls and colour everywhere. Ironically I’ve chosen a B&W shot for this post, I love the movement in it. The Canterbury Cathedral can be seen in the distant background of the photo, it was really beautiful at night all lit up with huge Christmas trees surrounding. If the history interests you, check this out: http://www.canterbury-cathedral.org/history.html . Enjoy, N x

Leeds Castle

These photos are from a very memorable journey to Leeds Castle (Kent) close to Christmas in 2008 (29th Nov to be exact – yes I kept the admission ticket). I ventured out with my house mate Tania and our “Landlady” Jenny. A memorable driving experience had us (gratefully) arriving to Kent to soak up some history and the beautiful grounds of Leeds Castle. It was an overcast day, a bit of drizzle and everything was green green green, perfect conditions and just how I always imagined the English countryside. Nearing Christmas they had a Nutcracker theme running through the whole castle, beautiful Christmas trees everywhere, large staged banquets and the Nutcracker edge actually made it a little spooky. If the history of the castle interest you visit : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leeds_Castle. We did continue onto some Christmas markets in Kent after our Castle visit but i’ll save those pics for my next post. Happy Weekend everyone! N x

Cars have been a fanatical thing in our family for as long as I can remember. I sincerely believe that my Dad’s past as a rally car driver is directly attributable to my current driving skills, that kind of thing is genetic right? This photo is proof that I must always carry my camera, no matter what! I was having a lovely weekend with the girls at Observation City, whilst enjoying a bevy on the balcony I noticed a swing dancing event and adjacent to that a very significant collection of old fashioned cars. I swiftly finished my drink and belted down to the cars to make the most of the remaining light. The result was almost 1000 photos, this one is a bit of a favorite. N x
